Professor Gill
Professor Gill keeps the Fish Dex: your record of what you have discovered.
What it tracks
- How many of each species you have caught
- Likely a global total of all fish caught
- Which mutations of which species you have landed, whether you have caught a Disco Cod specifically, not just a Cod
That last one is what makes the Dex the longest chase in the game. It is not 32 entries; with 31 mutations per species it is potentially hundreds.
What it does not show
- Other players' progress: your Dex is yours alone
- Ethereal fish, which never appear until you catch one
Rewards
A reward system for unlocks is planned, including for completing sets. Nothing is decided yet.
