Fish weight
Every fish is caught at a weight in kilograms, and weight is one of the biggest levers on what you earn.
Confirmed
- Weight multiplies the sell price linearly. Twice the weight, twice the coins.
- The Strength stat on your rod raises the average weight of the fish you catch.
- A base rate of 3 coins per kilogram has been observed, on a Cod caught at 10.0 kg.
Why Strength matters more than it looks
Strength does not get you rarer fish, Luck does that. What it does is raise the value of everything you catch, including the commons you were going to reel in anyway.
That makes it the quiet compounding upgrade. Luck changes what shows up; Strength changes what all of it is worth. Both are on the same rod.
Quests
Weight is also a quest target, Finn hands out objectives like catch a 300+ kg fish, which makes Strength a requirement rather than a nice-to-have.
